Glasto 2010
« on: June 25, 2010, 10:14:12 AM »
The TV coverage starts tonight on BBC 2,3,4. Although I'm very much looking forward to it as per usual I'm not in a mood to tolerate more pointless tripe from the  moronic  "hip"presenters.Surely the BBC can do much better than this low standard bunch ?
Don't talk to me about bloody flag wavers who stand at the front of the crowd obscuring the stage from the thousands behind them and from us at home.
Ah, that's better. All this sunshine puts me into a really friendly state of mind.. ;D

Glad I didn't get a ticket. This is the first time I haven't watched anything of the festival. No-one who played this year interests me one bit. What happened to the great rock festival? It's turning into a rap/R'n'B love fest with each passing year.

I only caught bits of the BBC's coverage but I thought Muse on Saturday were absolutely superb. Stevie Wonder last night was pretty good too, if he sticks at it he could have quite a career I think :)

The problem with any tv coverage of an event this big means that inevitably we only get to see the mainstream stuff - probably something to do with the coverage agreement the beeb has with the event.  So you end up missing out on a lot of very good stuff on the other stages with only a smattering of exposure as part of the main broadcasts.  Having said that, I need to try to trawl through the glastonbury coverage on the bbc site (www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010) to find the gems.  Orbital looked pretty good to me! ans did Rodrigo y Gabriela

You have my assurances that it was much better being there than watching it on TV!

Highlights were Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's surprise appearance on The Park Stage, Candi Staton again on the Park Stage, The XX and The Foals in the John Peel tent, Bonobo and George Clinton on the West Holts Stage, Ray Davies on the Pyramid stage, Bez' Acid House Party in the Shangri-la, The Stranglers on the Other Stage and Snoop Dog's performance with Gorillaz - he took on a totally different persona  8)  The Orb played twice too  ;D

The thing about Glasto is to stay off the beaten track if you want to experience something a little special. The sun shone and I should have left my wellies at home  ;D
