Next US tour
« on: July 26, 2010, 06:47:59 PM »
Hopefully, your next US tour will include Charlotte, NC again, unless the reason you skipped it last time was for financial reasons, which would be a reason to skip it again.

Anyhow, please include Fletcher Memorial Home in the mix when you tour the US, and hopefully, you will play close enough for me to get to see you for the 4th time.

Thanks.

Where the band play is down to local promoters. In last year's economic climate, they weren't as forthcoming as in previous years, so there were fewer dates on the North American tour. I hope things get back to normal soon, but the UK tour was similarly restricted earlier this year.

Who might be the promoter(s) in the NC/SC area I might contact to get you here?

I hear ya arsailman, TAPFS missed playing Toronto last year too. I'm already trying to find a promoter to book em here. Hopefully they play before Rog does. Sept. 15, 16 and 18th or even after, well any time before the snow flies. As for promoters you can try Livenation, mind you i haven't had any luck with them. Shine On and good luck!

Be interesting to see how many cities The Aussies will book this fall.  Times being what they are and Roger selling out tix at exhorbatent prices hopefully fans can and will attend both.  I myself splurged on TixBastards "Platinum" seating for roughly a grand on 2 tix to see Rog.  If prices were similiar to last years Vegas stop ($35) then I'll be seeing TAPF as well.

I hear ya handicpr....I punched out over $200 per ticket for my wife and I to go to see Roger. The last time the Aussies were in Dallas...they did "The Wall". And I can only hope that Roger can do half as good of a show as the Aussies did. Hell...the tickets for the Aussie version of "The Wall" were only $50 apiece. Now I'm kind of afraid that I may only get half the show...for 4 times the price!!

I've seen Roger a half dozen times...and sadly each time I leave his show...I kind of feel like something was missing. I guess I'll see how we do come November.

Oh well...best wishes! Hope you enjoy the show!

JC  I paid $35 per for that Aussie Wall show and it was great but more blown away by last years tour.  Im sure with Rog doing The Wall TAPF won't be tapping to much into it this year.  I would not be disappointed if the set stayed the same but going out on a limb here I would guess it could be a WYWH show with a best of 2nd half.  It being the 35th anniversary of its release and not to mention the recent popularity of all these acts performing albums in its entirety.  Funny how this trend really took off after Rogs DSOTM tour 3 years ago.  Aerosmith, Motley, Rush to name a few of the biggies have embraced this.  I think its a great thing.  You mentioned something lacking in Rogs shows.  In his last 4 tours I haven't even thought it.  He could go and do Pros and Cons and I would enjoy it.
Its Roger Waters and his music has been in my life for years enhancing it if that makes sense. That's why I paid the money I did for the tix.  To tell u the truth Vegas face value was $250 per for top seats but most of those available to public were not that close to stage. TicketMaster did an ingenious thing by offering close seats if u are willing to pay.  Thats why brokers are in business cause their is a market for that.  Thru TM and a month AFTER show sold out I bought 20th row center for what brokers would be charging twice that amount.  People think a grand is a waste to pay but to me its not only the show but the memories I take with me.  Besides if I was in the back the whole I time I'd be wishing I was up front and kicking myself in the ass for being cheap!  Enjoy it and do make an attempt to see The Aussies as well.

So far they are playing the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh, PA on October 27, 2010.

On Saturday night (July 31, 2010) PBS was airing the Australian Pink Floyd show, and during the commercial break the station was taking pledges.  They were offering tickets to the show.  They had mentioned that this would be the fourth appearance in Pittsburgh (the first featuring the Dark Side of the Moon, the second featuring The Wall, and last year featuring Pink Floyd's greatest hits).  So, yes, this would be the fourth year.

I am not sure when the actual announcement will be made (when tickets would go on sale to the general public).  The Australian Pink Floyd Show is due to air on PBS a few more times during the month of August.

Thanks for the PBS tip. I'll have to check my monthly listings to see if they are shown here in Charlotte, NC. That's a tipoff that they will come here or close by...
